A ferrite bead, also known as a ferrite ring or filtering ferrite ring, is a passive component used in electrical circuits to suppress high-frequency noise. As a specialized type of choke, it is primarily composed of ferrite material and suppresses high-frequency noise by converting high-frequency currents into thermal dissipation. Ferrite beads are also occasionally referred to as EMI filters, ferrite cores, or iron cores.

The simplest form of a ferrite bead is a toroidal ferrite inductor, around which a conductive wire can be wound. They are also available in snap-on (clip-on) designs that can be clamped directly onto cables. Additionally, ferrite beads are manufactured as electronic components that can be soldered onto printed circuit boards (PCBs), including surface-mount device (SMD) packaging configurations.
